David John Cade

Retired USAF Colonel, business executive, historian, author, and lifelong student of national security and human achievement.

Military service

David served for 22 years as a United States Air Force officer, with accelerated promotions through intelligence, plans, and command assignments. His tours included the Office of the Secretary of Defense; command of the 6931st Security Group in Crete, where he was the senior United States official on the island; and a general officer’s position at Headquarters, USAF. He also served in Germany, Panama, Vietnam, and Greece.

Business and technology

After retiring from the Air Force, David held executive positions in communications, command and control, national security, and renewable energy. He worked with AT&T and Lockheed Martin and served as CEO of three publicly traded alternative-energy companies. He is co-holder of an issued patent on hydrogen-generation technology.

Education and writing

David holds an MBA from Syracuse University and a BA from the University of Illinois at Champaign–Urbana. He is a graduate of the Armed Forces Staff College, Columbia University’s Senior Executive Program, and the National War College.

His published work covers Russian military strategy, George Marshall, Maurice Rose, Allied command relationships in World War II, renewable energy, genealogy, and Thoroughbred racing history.

Public service

David has served on the Board of Directors of the Center for Democracy and Human Rights in Saudi Arabia. His renewable-energy and national-security experience informs his analysis of military developments and global energy diversification.
